Teaching Philosophy

Music is one of the most powerful methods with which we can express ourselves; it enriches our lives and enables us to convey things that we find difficult to put into words. This is my primary goal as a music teacher--to allow students to find their "other" voice.

Of course, one cannot become fluent in musical language without ample practice. I believe it is imperative for all musicians to cultivate a strong foundation of technique, intonation, and rhythm--all achieved through regular, thoughtful practice. We will work together to find the exercises and etudes that are best suited to your own growth as a musician.

Experience

I have over ten years of teaching experience at all age levels; I have taught extensively in both private and group settings and run masterclasses for students in groups as large as forty.

Masterclasses and Group Instruction

Group instruction can be a valuable way for students to improve their flute playing; it provides students the ability to learn through hands-on experience as well as through the observation of others. To book Ms. Sulick to teach a masterclass at your institution, please visit the contact page.
